Gjennomsnittstemperaturen på Svalbard lufthavn var -3,4 grader, som er 1,2 grader under normalen. På Hopen var månedstemperaturen -3,4 grader, som er 1,4 grader under normalen. Bjørnøya endte også 1 grad under normalen, med en middeltemperatur på -1,2 grader.
Månedens høyeste maksimumstemperatur ble målt 27. mai. Jan Mayen registrerte da 11,3 grader. Den laveste minimumstemperaturen ble målt i Adventdalen med -16,5 grader 13. mai.
