Forfatternes mål med denne samlingen av essays er å bidra til å balansere klimadebatten, ved å formidle god vitenskap og konkrete fakta man ikke finner andre steder, på grunn av massiv sensur i mainstream media, samt meningspress og selvsensur i politiske kretser og blant statsansatte meteorologer og klimaforskere. Samtidig viser vi at det er betydelige feil og utelatelser i lærebøkenes klimastoff, på alle nivåer, fra barnetrinn til universitet.
Vårt sentrale budskap er at det ikke eksisterer noen klimakrise. Ingen er uenige i at klimaet er i endring. Men en overveldende og veldokumentert klimahistorikk viser at endringene de siste 150 år ikke er enestående. Alt vi i dag observerer av vær, uvær og ekstremvær har på samme måte rammet våre samfunn også tidligere, men en voldsom vekst i befolkningstettheten de siste 100 år gjør oss langt mer sårbare.
Vi er klar over at dette vil være overraskende for mange. Krisebudskap som ‘Kode rød for menneskeheten’ gjør inntrykk på de fleste. Men dette er nøye kalkulerte og spissformulerte politiske ytringer som ikke er forankret i faglitteraturen Klimapanelet bygger på, men som er konstruert for å påvirke våre beslutningstakere.
Mer enn 1400 vitenskapsfolk herunder to medlemmer av Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi, nobelprisvinner i fysikk Ivar Giæver og atmosfærefysiker Richard Lindzen, har undertegnet et internasjonalt opprop som sier at det ikke finnes en klimakrise, se Clintel World Climate Declaration: THERE IS NO CLIMATE EMERGENCY. Påstanden om at det er full enighet om en krise er derfor usann.
Samlingen åpner med en drøfting på rent vitenskapelig basis som viser at klimaet alltid har endret seg og at endringene vil fortsette og at IPCC’s klimamodeller feiler. Men også de såkalte attribusjonsmetodene feiler, der IPCC forsøker å finne en direkte årsaksmessig knytning mellom ekstremvær og økt CO2-innhold i atmosfæren. Med dette mister IPCC’s budskap mye av sin tyngde. Avslutningsvis viser vi at både den europeiske energikrisen og den norske strømpriskrisen er skapt av grønne politikere som er uten kunnskaper både om energispørsmål og om virkningen av de tiltakene de har vedtatt.
